Savita Iyer (@urbankala_art_of_gifting) is a quintessential Mumbaikar who is the brain behind Urbankala- Art of Gifting, after her 10 year long career as a Texturing & Lighting Expert in the VFX and animation industry. The artist who works on the painted/sculpted merchandise at Urbankala.Spreads art through her workshops pan India.

What is Thangka Art?
A thangka, variously spelt as thangka, tangka, thanka, or tanka , is a Tibetan Buddhist painting on cotton, silk appliqué, usually depicting a Buddhist deity, Lotus mudra scene, or mandala.the Gold work and intricate details on it are the significance of the painting
What you'll learn in this workshop?

In this workshop they will learn to draw these stylised character and , paint them using a particular color palatte and learn to do the detailing.

Materials Required:

  • Paper or canvas
  • Colors- acrylic or watercolors
  • Gold acrylic
  • Pencil, eraser
  • Microns of black pens for outline
  • 0 number brush for outlines
  • 3 - 6 number brush for filling colors.
  • One flat brush for wash
The workshop will be hosted via Zoom. We will send you a unique Zoom link a day before the workshop for you to join.
