Kachini (Indian Folk Art) workshop by Prasannavika on April 25th in Chennai
About the Artist:
Prasannavika (@sundarakala) is a handmade artist who is passionate about illustrative Indian folk art forms. What started off as a means to vent out some steam after long days in the corporate world, ended up becoming a passion. She started off with whatever she felt like working on, and slowly ended up discovering her love for mandalas, watercolour florals and the Bihar based folk art form of Madhubani. Almost 7 years after she started her work in the corporate world, and 3 years into experimenting with it part time, she took the plunge, quit her job and started Sundarakala.
Sundarakala is also a platform to purchase original or prints of art made by Prasannavika. Everything from the various forms of Madhubani - Kachini & Bharni, to intricate mandalas, to colourful doodles, watercolour florals, to galaxies and whatnot. Sundarakala also specializes in making invitations for all occasions - weddings, birthdays and every other family functions.
