Fraktur Calligraphy Workshop by Mayank on 24th March in Cochin

About the Artist:

It was in 2009, while in first year of the college that I was lucky to have an Italics workshop organised. I enjoyed giving flourishes to my basic handwriting. I graduated as an Electrical Engineer back in 2013. In that four years, I never happened to know the possibilities that existed in the field of Calligraphy. After around an year, on one ordinary day, I happened to download Instagram, by chance which opened a whole distinct world of calligraphy. I was fascinated and tempted to try my hands at several scripts. The only source of information available was internet but that didn't cater to getting the right tools, ink and paper combination from the local markets and the branded products would have made a fat hole in the pocket. I got my first tool as a gift from a friend and those were the flat nibs one. So, Fraktur was the first script that I started with. I came to Mumbai in 2016 and things geared up from then. Since then I've been trying to learn a few scripts. Every script has got it's own beauty. All it needs is time and dedication.

In this workshop you will learn Fraktur, Lowercase.

2. Small palette and an ink dropper
3. Steel brush dip pens
4. Tissue papers
