About the Artist:
I'm Pooja (@poojakamath133), I'm from Bangalore, India and I love food, stationery, travel, my blanket, the sunset, cheese popcorn, my phone and Netflix in no particular order. Though let's face it, food and stationery do fight for the top. I have a loving and sometimes confused husband, because he rarely finds himself on the above mentioned list, but heck, we make it work :) I have a full time job in Corporate Finance, so I spend most of my day with excel sheets and outlook, which is probably one of the reasons I started Calligraphy, to get back to putting pen to paper. I create brush lettered designs and products and am currently learning a new script – always stay a student!
I've been lettering for over a year, but safe to say, I've kept at it every single day - traveled with pens and papers, made sure to letter something or the other every day, even if its just the alphabets. There's only and only one thing that I think can help, as is with any art or even with riding a bicycle - PRACTICE! So, come join me and take your first step and you might just end up loving it!
What you will do at the workshop?
Enter the world of modern lettering with a ‘brush’ with modern lettering! Learn the basics of brush calligraphy, tools, tips and tricks and resources to help you continue your journey through this vast galaxy after the class as well. Learn the strokes, alphabets, word formations and phrases, other techniques to enhance your lettering and take back a creation of your own by the end of the class.
You will be provided with the following tools at the workshop:
- Add Gel Brush Pens
- High quality lettering papers
- Card stock paper for you to create something and take home
- A marker for monoline lettering
- A workbook with guide sheets and information on materials and resources – So you know what to do after class!
- Free access to a monthly subscription of brush lettering guides and printables.
