About the Artist:

I’m Anushka Nayak (@anushkanayakart), a finance grad turned fine-artist based in Mumbai. I’ve been a full-time artist for 3 years now, and have been teaching art since 2018. Over this period, I have experimented with several mediums including charcoal, soft pastels and oil paints, but Acrylic Paints are my favourite medium to work with. I love creating detailed miniature paintings and derive most of my artistic inspiration from the splendour nature and my travels around the world.

What would you learn during the workshop?

In this beginner-friendly Acrylic Painting workshop, we will be exploring the various aspects that are quintessential to a nature-themed painting; blue skies, mountains, trees and lakes. In this session, we’ll be covering the following:

An Introduction to Acrylic Paints-How this medium works & the surfaces it can be used on
The different varieties of Acrylic Paints & brands which are available in the market
The various types of brushes & tools that can be used
How to draw in perspective, and create the illusion of distance through some painting tricks
Blending techniques & brush strokes
How to add a realistic feel to a painting through the use of shadows and highlights

Materials Required:

Canvas Panel or Canvas Sheet (Ideal size: 10” by 12”)
Synthetic Brushes: Flat Brush No. 8, 6, 2 & Round Brush No. 4, 1
Acrylic Paints-Fevicryl/Camel/Faber Castell [Shades: White, Blue (Sky blue/Cobalt blue/Cerulean Blue/Prussian Blue), Green (Sap Green/Olive Green/ Emerald green/Cadmium green), Yellow (Lemon yellow/Chrome yellow/ Cadmium Yellow), Orange, Brown (Burnt Sienna/Burnt Umber)]

No prior experience/ artistic experience required!

The workshop will be hosted via Zoom. We will send you a unique Zoom link a day before the workshop for you to join.
