About the Artist:

I am Rakesh Malik (@rakeshmalik_art), a part-time painter and a full-time software developer at Fourkites Inc. I am originally from Howrah and currently based in Chennai. I mainly work on acrylic landscapes, seascapes, birds etc.. I have been painting in acrylic since 2017 and recently picked up oil as well.”

About the Workshop:

We will paint a detailed bird portrait
We will paint a colorful seascape and learn how to use mediums and retarders to smoothly blend different colors in acrylic.
We will have an FAQ and user interaction session.

Materials Required:

Acrylic paint set (Mandatory colors to have):

Black
White
Burnt Sienna / Burnt Umber
Crimson Lake
Orange / Scarlett Lake
Sap Green / Olive Green
Prussian Blue / Phthalo Blue / Any dark shade of blue
Lemon Yellow
Cadmium Yellow / Chrome Yellow / Permanent Yellow Medium

Acrylic Retarder (mandatory, use any acrylic medium just in case not available)
Brushes:

Taklon Round no 2,8 (or an Escoda Pearl Dagger brush)
Taklon Flat 8
Taklon Flat >=12 (as big soft fluffy as you can get, best if can find a Plaid smooth base coating brush instead)

White bristle fan brush (not mandatory)
Canvas 16”x12” or >200gsm Acrylic Paper (https://www.ayushpaper.com/product/canvas-texture-paper)
Water, Cloth/Tissue, Palette
Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener

The workshop will be hosted via Zoom. We will send you a unique Zoom link a day before the workshop for you to join.

Duration: 12 hours (6 sessions)

1st Session: October 10th - 5pm to 7pm
2nd Session: October 11th - 10.30am to 12.30pm
3rd Session: October 11th - 5pm to 7pm
4th Session: October 17th - 5pm to 7pm
5th Session: October 18th - 10.30am to 12.30pm
6th Session: October 18th - 5pm to 7pm

Cost: Rs.2499/-

(Recorded Session Available. During registration you can choose to get the recording of all the sessions, if you aren't able to attend the Live workshop. In this case, you will have 72 hours to watch the recording.)
